Mitragyna speciosa, commonly known as Kratom, is a tropical evergreen tree local to Southeast Asia. Kratom trees can grow to a height of up to 30 meters and produce bushels of broad green leaves which are traditionally hand-picked, dried in the sun, and then pulverized. Kratom is a member of the Mitragyna genus, which is part of the coffee family (Rubiaceae).
